- Leeds

Just a quick blog this time, am about to go to bed - finally. I am supposed to be getting up around 9 on a Sunday morning - which I will of course do without any major problems - hahaha. So have spent the last 3 hours looking at hostels/hotels and have so far not managed to decide on one. That MUST be done tomorrow. But knowing myself relatively well I might postpone it, and then end up paying lots more then I would had I done it sooner. Anyway, please if anyone knows anything helpful, please let me know. By helpful I mean stuff like good sites and so on.
The good news are that after contemplating and thinking (well practically trying not to think to much about it and just letting it happen) for a loooong time I have finally booked and paid for the flight ticket. Ouch, decisions! Of course had I managed to decide earlier (or make the decision happen) I would have gotten it cheaper - oh well to late for that now. I feel kind of relieved now but also miffed...! Ouch, ouch ouch!

This morning I went to the gym and when I got home I took a very loooong and very deserved shower, ahh, mmmm! Then when I had more or less decided to go to the ever thrilling and exciting (hmmhmm) Grimsby downtown for some relaxation I remembered I had some time ago sort of decided to go to Leeds. So I got in the car - I checked oil, water and tyres last Thursday - and hoped for the best. Despite it's slight illness it did not let me down :) Or brake completely down - Good car!!
So my mission to Leeds was to go to this one special shop which sells the clothes you wear closest to yourself and usually only applies to women. Not to be considered prejudiced let me point out that I only say 'usually' not 'only', if a guy wants to wear this, that's fine by me. I finally found the shop and spent 2 hours and loads of money :-/ in there!! Then all the other shops - and in general everything else - was closed so I just drove back. All in all a lovely day....

Take care... :-)

- Subway

Já já já! My neighbours managed to tempt me to go with them to Lincoln today instead of going to the gym. Must go tomorrow. But anyway, so there we were in Lincoln which is a very lovely place. After some serious looking around for a parking space and finally finding, we got out of the car to walk around and get to know Lincoln by foot. We walked up a road which was up a very steep hill with the imaginative name 'Steep Hill'. Unbelievable, right..! So then we saw a church and a castle and loads of shops. As we were walking we realized that we would looooove a Subway. Subway is not easily found in the UK. But I had looked on www.subway.co.uk (Not that I am in anyway addicted to Subway...) last night and Björgvin seemed to know as well that in Lincoln there should be a Subway place. So we sent Auður in to a bútasaumsbúð- (quiltshop) to ask for Subway. She came out bearing the tidings that we would have to walk back down the steep hill, and down and down and a bit further down and then it should be on the left. So we continued walking up. You see, we are not ones to be tricked or anything. So after some very nice tourist playing and narrowly escaping being shat on by a wicked pigeon -yugh- we started our journey down in search of Subway.
Ah, bliss, we found it and I bought 2 subs. One to have in the morning, you see. We also discovered that we had parked as close to Subway as really comfortably possible. Talking about someone working in mysterious ways..!? The thing I find rather amusing about the Lincoln Subway, are the opening hours. They are open from 7.30 - 18 on weekdays, and something very similar during weekends. Hahaha, this would never do in Iceland!!
But I have now found out where to go when the 'Subway need' comes over me.
Not that I will be able to go much anywhere since my, now not so, trusty car is playing up. Hick-up-ing and in general just misbehaving. Must do something about that soon.... Paaaabbiiii!!
Well, this will be enough for now,
Take care!

- Rather funny and rather sad

I have been wondering if I should mention this at all but I have decided not to hold anything back. I am starting with the rather sad part as it comes first in the timeline. Last Thursday I spent the evening at home and turned on the telly. There was this show on called 'The boy whose skin fell off'. And it was really about a guy - Jonny Kennedy - whose skin fell off. He had this rare genetic disease - Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) - which means that his skin literally fell off at the slightest touch, leaving his body covered in agonising sores and leading to a final fight against skin cancer. He died last September at the age of 36. This show was almost really undescribable and it had me in tears. So there I was sitting and crying in front of the TV. Needless to say (I am still saying/writing it) then I will certainly bear this in mind when I fell like complaining about something, and this sure helps to put things into perspective. Here is a link to a discussion board I found on this, and here to the shows site on C4, the TV channel that broadcasted this and from where I have done some serious copy paste.
Also in case anyone is interested then voilá...

On to the funny part. Yesterday I went to the gym where I participated in a class called 'boxercise'. I really had no idea what it would be like. Ok, so I could deduct from the name that possibly it had sumptin to do with box.... Well it was hilarious. After sipping (you know jumping over a string which you turn around yourself) we did some heating up with press-ups and sit-ups and all that stuff. Then there was a round with some different stations with different exercise on each station. So, on one station you were supposed to shadow box, punching in the air with weights. I felt so stupid!! And that was not the end of my misery - oh no no no. Then later on we were doing this funny dance boxers do (keep your feet at 45° angle!!) jumping all over and holding your hands in front of your face and punching into thin air!!!! Hahaha - it gets worse because when you are in the gym you can usually feel better by thinking that everyone around you is to busy to be watching poor insignificant you. Not in this case as half of the class (we were only about 7-8 women!!) was jumping around and making a complete fool of them selves shadowboxing and the other half was watching. Then when the trainer shouted stop, we of course stopped and then your 'partner' checked the way you were standing and your pose. I will not comment on the comments I got ;-)
Another ridicilous thing is that I am planning on going back on Sunday...!! There really is no hope for me is there...?!?

A hint as to what I might 'opinionate' on in my next blog session.... My favourite songs these days are 'I am going on a summer holiday' and 'Zorba'....

Take care
