- Weekend

This week is finally over - or as good as. I confess that I wait anxiously all week for this time and then I spend all weekend dreading Monday.
Last Friday I drove down to London, I was going to take the train but I got a better offer. Admittedly it took me more time than the train and it cost me additionally... but I drove a Porche 911 Targa. Yes - it was lovely :-) Spent 45 minutes on the phone to Stuart as he was guiding me the way in to Paddington where I was dropping the car off - on a Friday evening, rush hour-ish time. All good fun :-)
Then I went to see Windsor castle on Saturday, so now I could leave this country and actually say that I have done something touristy. Now all that is missing really is Stonehenge.
These days I am very jealous of Þórunn, she has started in the Icelandic people choir. I want that too!! :-( Not that I can sing, well I can sing but people wouldn't actually enjoy listen to me. Ah, but in a choir that can be camouflaged!
Oh, well. Nothing more to say.
Take care.

- Err

What does one write about when there is nothing to write about. The weather of course. In Iceland they are having a typical winter storm. Snow, cold and in general all around lovely weather.
On the other hand, we here in Healing are having a typical fall weather, leaves everywhere and it is raining. Looks lovely but is not so great when you are running for the bus. These leaves are slippery and it really maketh your day when a car speeds past you, right in to a puddle and gives you your second shower of the morning. Had I known this I would have slept these extra 7 minutes this morning and saved myself a few pounds on my waterbill.

- Hjördís Kjartansdóttir

Yesterday was Hjördís's funeral. Hjördís, I will miss you but I know you will be well taken care of where you are now.

- much later

Yes, it has been a while. But despite that I haven't got much to report. Work is just same old, same old. I have now been working for this company her in England for a year and half and we are getting Managing Director number 3. Yes, there has been some serious turnover. But I am still here...

Can't remember if I have already reported about my broken down car, has it really been out of order for so long! Wow, time flies when you are having fun - and it even flies when you are not having fun. So I spoke to my dad today who spoke to the guys at Vaka (The scrapyard where I bought my car) and they reckon they can get some parts for the speedy 'not moving' lightning car. Superb, then it just needs some serious TLC and to get shipped back to the UK. Look forward to that.

My computer has been out of order now for a while so this post is written over at the neighbours house. They went shopping and left me in charge of the kids - hehe - big mistake. I have no unseremoniusly dumped them in bed after giving them crisps, bread, pepsi, scratched a back, watched Simpsons (was quite spooky), read a book (about Dumbo, the only flying elephant in the world), brushed teeth and tucked them in. Nothing to it!! So now I have been asked to sit at the computer while the falling asleep goes on. What better opportunity then to do some blogging.

Last weekend Stuart and me went to Copenhagen. Did the whole 'be a tourist in Copenhagen' and like us Icelandic people say - walked my legs to the knees. It was good fun and I didn't really fancy going back. Especially not to work! Only got home around 3 in the morning and was at work at 9. Not nice. When you are younger you think that all this BS about you getting more tired is just that - BS. But I have now found out that one does get more tired. But I resist!

This Saturday I am going to a party. I look forward to that. Ragna, my neighbour is turning 3 years old - practically a lady by now. I am going to bake a chocolate cake - hope some of the kids will like a real Icleandic chocolate cake...!! Time will tell.

Well, the neighbours are home from the shopping trip and the kids are sleeping the sleep of jsut young kids (again sound nicer in Icelandic) Will go now but more later.

Take care
