Halló Ísland!! Yes I am back at the good old Island up in the North. Have already been out driving and with the exception of af few minor misunderstandings it went well. At least without anyone having to go to the hospital. Mum was a bit freaked out, but I mean, isn't she supposed to love me - no matter what!?
The plane trip was fine, and there to great me at the airport were Trína, (the trusted family dog - yes, the cute dog you can see a picture of on the website!), mum and dad. They have just recently moved so I was seeing their home for the first time. It is really nice, albeit a bit small. But they have a saying in Iceland that "people who are ok with each other can sit clustered together in tiny spaces". Which is why I have spent the last two nights away from the house. So now I only have to sort out approx. 16 nights. But hey, who's counting?!
Tomorrow I am going to work. This week it will be the nightshift. Well more like the evening shift. Starting at 16.00 and working until midnight - unless it is really busy then until some time later. But no matter what not longer than to 6.00. I am really looking forward to it.
Friday I went out with Hulda, we have known each other for something like 17 years and never gotten drunk together. It was a major revelation - we survived it and are still friends. Yesterday I went to stay at Þórunn's, we watched tv, with all the requirements - "popp og kók" (popcorn and 'always' coca-cola).
And now on to the highlight of the day... Today I met Jón. He participated in the Mr. Iceland competition. Ok, so he didn't win but he was voted the most popular one among the boys/men. This was all very exciting and thrilling for me, wow!
Anyway, take care, bye.
