- Again

It's the Sundays that get to me. It is such a sad day, the day before Monday.
Anyway, my old computer is getting just that... very old. And slightly unreliable. So now I am daydreaming about getting a new computer. Ahh, and with að little luck ADSL will be available as well.

Anyway, just a quick hello, take care

- Lundaveisla

Aka puffin party. Yes the moon or the sun or the earth or something has gone in a circle around itself. It was time for another puffin party here in culture city of Europe 2057.
It was excellent stuff, and the food exceptional. It was good fun, and I enjoyed it. Think we all did who attended.
Today it is Monday and I am over at my neighbours whilst my guests from Brighton are at my house. Not exactly the way it was planned or should be - but hey, even the best laid plans can change.
Next weekend I am driving down to London where I will hopefully manage to visit the British Museum. and since I having to report I am going over and out.

Take care.

-a little bit like Arnold Schwarzenegger

If anyone has any comments on how I spelled Arnie's name - please keep them to yourself ;-) At least I tried and there was no cheating involved, no doublechecking. Anyway, like him I am back!
Finally I have been able to connect to the darling internet from home. It is not fast and not superb but it is here and I can do minimum things and perhaps then some.

So latest: I was in Iceland for a few days... for my birthday! It was great!! I dragged Stuart along and the poor man endured meeting the whole family and more or less all of my work colleagues. Not sure if he has recuperated... Ah, well!

So we went to Kerið, Geysir and Gullfoss - otherwisely known as the Golden Circle, and it is not anything dirty! At the Kerið I nearly disappeared in mud which I not so wisely accidentally stepped in, and then for good measure I stepped further in. If you are gonna do it - do it good, that is what I say :-)
We also visited the National Museum and it was pretty awesome, at least compared to what it was when I last visited which was about 20 years ago!! Oh boy how time goes by!

Anyway, enough for now, next time I will hopefully update the look :-)

Take care.

- Breakfast Bun

They are lovely. Yes, have just had one this morning and I am bursting. Actually I didn't even manage to finish mine, what a shame really but in my defence I had already had a little bit of yougurt previously.
So this is this massive thing with everything! Oh, and even though it was lovely then the bacon was a bit too salty for my taste. Yum yum.

Last week I have more or less lived at my neighbours, think I will have to start contributing to the household expenses. They have been feeding me and entertaining me. I have got some good neighbours, oh yes I do. This Saturday they invited Friðrik and me over for some fried Icelandic and Faroeese fish, it was lovely. Almost better than the bun. Sorry!
And as the evening was nearing its end and Friðrik and me were about to be sent home I came up with this bright idea to start playing a game. It turned out to be Scrabble. It wasn't until very much later that I got home. Luckily I didn't have far to go.
So all in all a very good evening.

My other news are that I shall be in the UK this festive season, I am starting to get quite a bit homesick and I just hope it wont get worse. I will just have to fill my days with some fun somehow.... Hmmmm...

Anyway, take care.

- nothing

Yes, there are no news - no nothing.
I am still working for Eimskip from 9-17 and have just recently realized that being here without a car has made me depressed. Ah, but that is ok, as I am so a jolly person, that now I am just behaving like other 'normal' people! Anyway, the peace is out, my dad is sorting out my car and I should have it shortly. In the meantime I have in a weird and longwinding way (but still all happened within 3 minutes) gotten hold of a red Honda HRV vehicle. I went swimming and to the pub yesterday and it was FANTASTIC!! I can roam around now, well at least sort of.

This weekend is the Eimskip UK ltd Xmas party and of the 5 women on my department I am down in the 'books' as the one to be most likely to get the most drunk first!? I am appalled!! :-)
Anyway, might not be going as I haven't got my party outfit sorted. - As if that would stop me!! I mean, there is a raffle there!! Hooray!

So, on to other things. Oh, yeah, there were no other things. Hmmm, must be able to think of something. Ooh, yes, the other day there was a massive fire in Iceland. Thousands of tons of tires went up in flames. It took something like 14-16 hours to put it out and loads of houses had to be evacuated in the area. Eimskip is close to the fire site but due to the waythe wind was blowing they were more or less ok. Such luck! And NO, I am NOT being sarcastic here!!

Well, best do some work now and then find my way to the red Honda.

Take care

- song on my brain

All day today I have had this weird song on my brain. I don't know why as this is not even my favourite film or anything like that...? So it is this song - http://www.theguitarguy.com/wheredoi.htm

Today I heard that Guðmundur Sigurðsson, a colleague from the terminal died suddenly yesterday. He was only 46 years old and a great guy. When I went to take my 'work' machine exam his daughter was there doing that seminar as well. I am in a bit of a shock still - it is so unrealistic...!!

- an Hour of My Life

Just debating if is should be an hour off or of my life...
Well so this morning I got up just before six, yes, very weird. I stayed in bed, very nice, and finished a book about a alcoholic woman that sniffed glue in her younger years. After that I got out and roamed around, decided to go to work early, take an earlier bus. So I left the house at 7.45 and it was 8.45 before I got to work. During that hour I had taken 2849 steps according to my pedometer, started reading a book about a man who had a nervous breakdown and wakes up in a mental institute, had a discussion with a very nice young girl with nice red hair (it glowed/sparkled in the sun :-)) about late busses and strictness in Healing school as a opposed to Immingham school. Apparently you must wear shoes at Healing school, which I didn't find very peculiar until she added and not trainers. Then the penny dropped.
So now I am at work and I have taken 3023 steps.

- Weekend

This week is finally over - or as good as. I confess that I wait anxiously all week for this time and then I spend all weekend dreading Monday.
Last Friday I drove down to London, I was going to take the train but I got a better offer. Admittedly it took me more time than the train and it cost me additionally... but I drove a Porche 911 Targa. Yes - it was lovely :-) Spent 45 minutes on the phone to Stuart as he was guiding me the way in to Paddington where I was dropping the car off - on a Friday evening, rush hour-ish time. All good fun :-)
Then I went to see Windsor castle on Saturday, so now I could leave this country and actually say that I have done something touristy. Now all that is missing really is Stonehenge.
These days I am very jealous of Þórunn, she has started in the Icelandic people choir. I want that too!! :-( Not that I can sing, well I can sing but people wouldn't actually enjoy listen to me. Ah, but in a choir that can be camouflaged!
Oh, well. Nothing more to say.
Take care.
